The Gospel is the central message of Christianity to the world. It is centered on God’s provision of salvation for the world in Jesus Christ. This message is located primarily in the first four books of the New Testament. The Gospels:
Jesus Christ the Son of God. He is the great High Priest who intercedes for His people at the right hand of God. Jesus Christ is the founder of the Christian faith and central figure of the human race. He is the Messiah, Savior, and the perfect Lamb of God. To understand who Jesus is and what He accomplished, the New Testament explains in detail:(1) His life,(2) His teachings, (3) His person,(4) His work, and(5) His sacrifice.
What is Salvation?Salvation is God’s active plan to bring humans into a right relationship with Him through belief in Jesus Christ. They are saved from the consequences of their sin and given eternal life. Salvation Is accomplished by receiving the gift of grace through having faith in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of our sins and the restoration of our relationship with God.How can I be saved? If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9) If you would like to be saved and brought into a right relationship with God, repeat this prayer.Prayer of Salvation:Father, I come before You confessing that Jesus Christ is Lord.I believe that Jesus died on the cross for my sins and that You raised Him from the dead. Please forgive me for my sins in the name of Jesus. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and guide me on the path You desire for my life. In the name of Jesus I pray! Amen.
P.R.A.Y is a great prayer model to utilize:Praise: Start with worship, adoration, and thankfulness of God.Repentance: Confess sins and seek forgiveness. Also, forgive others for their offenses against you. Ask: Present your needs and the needs of others.Yield: Submit to God's will and guidance.Jesus explains how to pray in Matthew 6:9-13 (NKJV):In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
Your purpose is usually linked to your passion.“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” – Ephesians 2:10 (ESV)Questions to consider: What are your passions? What are you good at?What are your spiritual gifts? – See 1 Corinthians 12:1-11
The Great Commission is a sacred task given by Jesus Christ to His disciples.Who are Jesus’ Disciples? A disciple is a person who follows the ways of Jesus Christ. They are united with Jesus Christ by faith. Scriptures for the Great Commission? ”And Jesus came and spoke to them saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’ Amen.” – Matthew 28:18-20 (NKJV)How can The Great Commission be accomplished? Romans 10:13-17 (NKJV)For, “everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved.” But how are men to call upon Him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in Him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without a preacher?...So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes by the preaching of Christ. This statement indicates the following line of reasoning: (1) It first assumes that a person must call upon the name of the Lord to be saved. (the Lord is Jesus Christ) (2) People can only call upon the name of Jesus Christ if they believe in Him. (meaning they believe He is a Savior worthy of being called upon and that He will likewise answer those who call on him)(3) People cannot believe in Christ unless they have heard of Him.(4) They cannot hear of Christ unless there is someone to tell them about Him (a preacher, or a witness). (5) The conclusion is that saving faith comes by hearing (that is, by hearing the gospel message), and this hearing of the gospel message comes about through the preaching of Christ.
